Winifred Daniel, lovingly called Winnie, journeyed to Heaven August 2, 2018. She was 96 and lived most of her life in Lithonia, Georgia and Conyers, Georgia. Winnie was preceded in death by parents, Thomas Olin Collins and Jessie Mae Collins; her husband, David Daniel; daughter, Wanda Reid; and son-in-law, James Reid. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Bodkin; son-in-law, Howard Bodkin; grandchild, Joyce Reid; sisters, Hazel Collins and Carol Northcutt; brother, Reginald Collins; and several nieces and nephews who were close to her heart. Winnie was a hairdresser and owned 'Winnies Beauty Shop' in Lithonia for 30 years. She loved people and was active in her community helping others after retirement. Winnie was a wonderful friend to Thomas Bodkin who she adopted as a "son" in her later years. She was active in the choir with Lithonia First Baptist Church while living in Lithonia and was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Covington, Georgia. Her last home was at Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Monroe, Georgia who cared for her with loving grace. A funeral service will be held 3 o'clock, Saturday, August 4, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Internment on Monday will be private. The family will receive friends from 1:30 o'clock until service time at the funeral home.
