William Stephen Turner, Sr., age 77, of Conyers, Georgia, died on March 9, 2024. He was a retired plant manager with H.B. Fuller Chemical Company, where he was a loyal employee for many years. His commitment was not only limited to his profession but also extended to his profound faith. A dedicated servant of The Lord, he spent countless hours evangelizing and participating in local churches, particularly True Gospel and Calvary Baptist Church where he won many souls to Christ. Fishing was his favorite hobby and one he was quite good at, earning him the esteemed title of Angler of the Year by the Georgia Anglers Association in 1985. Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his father, William R. Turner; mother and step-father, George James Jones and Frances Rebecca Jones. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Linda Jones Turner; children, Joeli (Nolan), William Stephen Turner, Jr., Scott Jeffrey Turner; step-children, Michelle Lynn Jones, Mark Jones, Brandon Jones; sisters, Sylvia Guy, Brenda (Niki) Garner, Rita (Maurice) Howerton, Teresa (Bobby) Eden; grandchildren, Ashley Marie (Cole) Vines, Christopher Stephen Turner; great-grandchildren, Coleson Porter, Micah Vines; step-great grandson, Aiden Vines; numerous nieces, nephews & extended family members. A funeral service for Mr. Turner will be held 1:30 PM, Friday, March 29, 2024, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia, and interment following in Melwood Cemetery, Stone Mountain.
