William H. Stroud, S/Sgt. U.S. Army retired, age 85, of Covington, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014. He was preceded in death by son, Charles Stroud and is survived by his wife of 62 yrs., Ernestine; daughters, Tracy Auchtung and her husband, John, of Conyers, Jennie Butler and her husband, Tim, of Ayden, SC; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Thursday, May 29, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with John Auchtung and Tim Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia at 2:30, with full military honors.
