William Matthews

Capt. William A. "Billy" Matthews, Jr., Rockdale County Fire Department, Retired. Billy Matthews, age 68, of Conyers, died Sunday May 5, 2019. A 1969 graduate of Rockdale County High School and retired as a Capt. from the Rockdale County Fire Department after 33 years of service. Billy was a member of Pace Masonic Lodge #558 F&A.M. and was a Shriner. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and was a people person. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Susan Mayfield Matthews; Sister, Janice Harvill and her husband, Mike of Conyers; Brother-in-law, Richard Mayfield of Conyers; Nieces, Lisa, Tracy, Joyce, and Michelle; Nephew, Michael; great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. There are no services planned at this time.
