Service: 1 o'clock, Thursday, November 2, 2017 Place: Lithonia Chapel of Henry Funeral Home Visitation: 6 - 8 Wednesday evening Place: Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia William Horace "Billy" Garner, Jr., age 63, of Lithonia died October 29, 2017. He was a Lithonia native and a graduate of the Lithonia High School Class of 1972. Billy retired from Exxon due to a disability and was a former member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bettye Howard Connell, and father, Horace Garner. He is survived by the man who raised him, Sam Connell; sisters, Betsy Smith and her husband, Ken, of Covington, and Kathy Thompson and her husband, James, of Stockbridge; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held 1 o'clock Thursday, November 2 at the Lithonia Chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Smith and Rev. Jason Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6 - 8 Wednesday evening at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
