Virginia Ragsdale, age 85, of Lithonia, died May 23, 2018. Jenny, as she was known to all who knew and loved her, was a fabulous cook who never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by parents, Harry Spivey and wife Willie Stephens Spivey; brothers, Hugh Spivey, Charles Spivey, Morris Spivey; a sister, Hattie Almand. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Marvin Ragsdale; sons, Kenneth Ragsdale and wife Liza of Pensacola, FL, John Ragsdale and wife Janis of Knoxville, TN, Mark Ragsdale and wife Seda of Roswell, GA; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock Tuesday, May 29 in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Chambers officiating. Interment following at Melwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3-5 on Monday, May 28 at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church, Rutledge, GA.
