Violet Louise Stapp, age 86, of Eatonton, Georgia, died Sunday, March 22, 2026. Born and raised in Lithonia, Louise was the daughter of the late Morris Lafayett Hammock and Violet Odell Leftwich Hammock. She graduated from Lithonia High School in the late 1950s and was baptized at Cresthill Church in Decatur on March 31, 1963.

Louise had a wide range of hobbies—traveling, gardening, camping, riding motorcycles, and boating, among others. She was a talented baker and often shared her delicious cakes with friends and family. While these activities brought her great joy, nothing meant more to her than the time she spent with her family. She loved them deeply, and one of her most cherished roles was being “Dendy” to her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her beloved husband of 50 years, Bobby Joe Stapp, Sr.; her baby girl, Violet Ethel Stapp; her grandson, Tyler Brown; and all her siblings, Johnny Hammock, Corine Turner and Sadie Shockley.

Survivors include her children, Tony Stapp (Wanda), Joe Stapp (Terry), Paula Renee Stapp; grandchildren, Tony Stapp (Summer), Cindy Mumford (Drew), Ryan Stapp, Allie McWilliams (Tim), Jamey Cochran (Blake), Jeffrey Cochran (Alison), Jennifer Nelson (Billy); great-grandchildren, Tyson Stapp, Lexie Crane, Dylan Stapp, Alexander Mumford, Aiden Cochran, Ashlynn Cochran, Addie Cochran, Caleb Cochran, Madison Tout, Hailey Nelson, Kaydence Nelson, Morgan Nelson, Chase Nelson, Poppy McWilliams; great-great-grandchildren, Willow Stapp, Indie Tout ; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, March 30, at Lithonia City Cemetery with Pastor John Jordan officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
