Vera Ellen Farr Corbett, age 87, of Lithonia, died May 23, 2022. Sis, as she was known to her family, was born in Milledgeville, Georgia, worked with her father on their dairy farm, and attended Peabody Elementary & High School. She learned to drive their truck at age 12, accepted the Lord as a 16 year old young lady in a group known as the Meriwether Mites, and loved riding her horses, Prince and Princess. Vera moved in 1960 with her family to Lithonia and became a part of the community...keeping the same PO Box number and phone number for 62 years! She served as the secretary of First Baptist Church of Lithonia for 17 years and in the Business and Evangelism Departments at Georgia Baptist Convention for 22 years. Vera loved her family and friends well and was loved by many. She was preceded in death by her sons, Richard and Bill Corbett; parents, H.M. Farr and Verona Stephens Farr; and son-in-law, Pat Cahill. Surviving are her daughters, Cheryl Corbett Ferebee Siler and her husband, Robert, of Young Harris, Linda Corbett Cahill of John's Creek, and Sandra Corbett Fox and her husband, Don, of Blue Ridge; sister, Jewel Farr McKinley; grandchildren, Devon Corbett and wife, Carrie, Kristy Corbett, Dorothy Corbett, Chris Ferebee and wife, Amber, Brandon Ferebee, Paul Cahill and wife, Katy, Jim Cahill, Josh Cahill and Lauren Cahill; and great-grandchildren, Cooper Corbett, AnnaBelle Corbett, Macie Corbett, Maddie Ferebee, William Ferebee, Mary Frances Cahill, Margaret Cahill, and George Cahill. Her funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Friday, May 27, at the First Baptist Church of Lithonia with Rev. Bob Lindsay and Dr. Jim Martin officiating. The interment will follow at West View Cemetery in Milledgeville. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 prior to the service at the church.
