Velma Annette Jackson, age 77, of Lithonia, died September 18, 2022. Born in Decatur, Georgia to Mary and William Hammock, she was raised in Lithonia where she was a 1964 graduate of Lithonia High School. Velma married Howard Jackson shortly after graduation and they were married 51 years until his death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lithonia. She worked for Macy's Distribution Center for over 10 years. Velma was a wonderful cook, meatloaf and country fried steak were some of her specialties. A very friendly person; a good mother to her children; she will be missed. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Mary Lois; and sister-in-law, Sandra Moore. Surviving are her son, Frank Jackson of Lithonia; daughter, Melissa Watford and her husband, Jack, of Lilburn; and sister, Linda Parker and her husband, Randall, of Covington. No services are planned at this time.
