Burlleen "Tommy" Payne Forrester, age 83, of Lithonia died Sunday, June 12, 2022. Born in Murrayville, Georgia, to Burl and Idell Payne, she was a graduate of Lithonia High School class of '56. Tommy worked as a receptionist for Dr. David Phelps for 30 years. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, spending time with her family, and playing the piano when she was young. A loving wife and mother, she was a devoted fan of her son's and granddaughter's sports activities and she and her granddaughter would have a weekly visit to the nail salon together. She was preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Idell Payne; brothers, Joe Payne, Bill Payne and Charles Payne; and sisters, Annie Mae Broadnax, Mary Lou Cody, Betty Thibadeau, and Joann Collins. Surviving are her husband of over 60 years, L.B. Forrester of Lithonia; son, Barry Lee Forrester and his wife, Tracy of Lithonia; granddaughter, Liz Forrester of Lithonia; sisters, Lois Wilson of Cumming and Eula Burt of Lithonia; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Thursday, June 16, in the Chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Dr. Roger Aikens officiating. The interment will follow at East Lithonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
