Colonel William Thomas Watkins, USAF Reserves (Ret), age 66, of Grayson, died December 22, 2016. Tom was employed by Emory University for over 34 years. The colonel served his country honorably for 41 years in the USAF Reserves. He was an active member of the Presbyterian Church of the Resurrection, where he served as an Elder. Surviving are his brother, Lee Watkins and his wife, Judy, of Oxford; nieces, Leslie Shepherd and her husband, Chris, of Naperville, IL, and Jordan Winters and her husband, Christian, of Dunwoody; great nieces and nephews, Merrick, Will, Lauren, and Bryn; aunt, Nell Ray Rice; cousins, Tommy Rice and his wife, Nan, and Nelray Lilly and her husband, George. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday, December 28, at the Presbyterian Church of the Resurrection with Rev. Nicole Locke and Rev. Leigh Jones officiating. A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. Interment will follow with full military honors at 3:30 at Floral Hills Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends 5 - 7 Tuesday evening at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
