Place: Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia Theresa Jo Barnes, 69 of Stone Mountain, GA, passed away at her home, Friday, March 9, 2018. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Terri, to family and friends, was born in Kankakee, IL to Howard and Mary Alvey on March 3rd, 1949, relocating to the Atlanta area in the late 1970's where she met and married Mr. Dale Barnes in 1991. The couple started a successful insurance company which continues to operate today. For those who knew her well, she will be remembered most for her infectious, bright, and funny personality with an overwhelming desire to bless those around her. Terri is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 27 years, Dale Barnes, of Stone Mountain, GA, daughter, Christine Snider of Kankakee, IL, step daughter, Melissa Chope of Virgina Beach, VA, step daughter, Rebecca Ritchie of Virginia Beach, VA, sister, Sharon Bennett of Pinellas Park, FL, sister, Carol Clapp, of Farmersville, OH, brother, Michael Alvey of Arlington, TX, brother, Steven Alvey of Mesa, AZ, brother, Daniel Alvey of Green Bay, WI, brother, David Alvey of Monroe, GA, sister, Brenda Zupec of Mt, Iron, MN, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Terri will be deeply missed by all. A celebration of Terri's life will take place 2 o'clock, Saturday, March 31, at Henry Funeral Home, , 6833 Church St., Lithonia, GA , 30058. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society.
