Service: 11 o'clock, Saturday, May 6, 2017 Place: St. John Baptist Church Visitation: 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 Friday, May 5, 2017 Place: Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia Shirley A. Simmons, age 74, of McDonough, died April 27, 2017. She was a member of Henry Baptist Church in McDonough and a retired Office Manager for the Fulton County Health Department. Shirley was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruby Nell King. Surviving are her husband, Jerald D. Simmons; daughter, Kilda Kay Simmons of Rex; son, Jeffrey Donald Simmons and his wife, Cindy, of McDonough; grandchildren, Britani Simmons of McDonough, Alisha Williams of Rex, Justin Simmons and his wife, Kimberly, of McDonough, and Bradley Simmons and his wife, Tiffany, of Lewisburg, KY; one great grandson, Connor Simmons of Lewisburg, KY. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock Saturday, May 6, at St. John Baptist Church with remains placed in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Rev. Archie Norman and Pastor Tommy Dunn will officiate. Interment will follow at Dawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 Friday, May 5, at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
