Sherion H. Day, age 77, of Lithonia, died February 12, 2023. She was born in Aragon, Georgia, to Frank and Ruth Hopper, and grew up in Atlanta. Sherion worked as a manager for Ace Hardware for several years. She enjoyed dancing, gardening and making people laugh. Sherion was a loving wife and mother. She had a devoted dog, "Sissy", who brought her much love and companionship. Sharion was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Gayle Akin. Surviving are her husband of 27 years, Larry Day; daughters, Cindy Bowles and Melissa Karen Padgette and husband, Johnny, all of Milledgeville; sons, Parker Bowles of Jacksonville, FL and Terry Bowles; sisters, Annette Sanders and husband, Hoyt, of Hollywood, GA, Jackie Upchurch and husband, Jeff, of Griffin, Delores "Corky" Thrash and husband, Jerome, of McDonough; and Margie Adams and husband, Tony, of McDonough; brothers, Ricky Hopper and wife, Connie, of Winder and Donald Hart of McDonough; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 1 o'clock, Thursday, February 16, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Live flowers will be accepted (the family is planning to plant a flower garden in her memory) or donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
