Samuel B. Connell, age 86, of Lithonia, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019. Born to Buren and Gladys Connell in Adel, Georgia, where he spent his early life and was a 1949 graduate of Cook County High School. Sam was the owner and operator of B & S Catering Service for many years and was a member of Community Church of Praise. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking road trips, fishing, cooking, music (especially classic country and southern gospel), and making his family laugh. Sam was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Bettye and his son, Billy. Surviving are his daughters, Kathy Thompson and her husband, James, of Stockbridge, and Betsy Smith and her husband, Ken, of Covington; sisters, Frances Maddox of Adel and Pat Connell of Valdosta; grandchildren, Marsha and Jason Hall, Mark and Joy Thompson, Jordan and Savannah Smith, Logan Smith, Landan and Morgan Smith and Kaycee Connell; great grandchildren, Adelyn, Allie, Harrison, Autumn, Carter, Mallory, Annaston, Hadleigh, and baby Ryman. A funeral service will be held 1:30 o'clock, Sunday, August 4, at Community Church of Praise with Pastor Ken Smith and Rev. Jason Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 2-4, Saturday, August 3 at Henry Funeral Home.
