Ruby Lee Ferrell, age 79, of Lithonia, passed away May 15, 2021. She loved her church and was an active member of Miller Grove Baptist Church during the early years of her life, and later was a faithful member of Union Missionary Baptist Church where she gave her time to the ladies mission's group, meals on wheels and sang in the church choir. She was an avid reader and loved to cook. Her extended family referred to her as "The Chef". Most of all, Ruby loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren were her delight. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Willie Myrt Lowe and her husband of 30 years, Wilbert Lee Ferrell, Sr. Ruby leaves to cherish her memory six sons: Scott Walker of Lithonia, Darrell Walker of Lithonia, Pastor Dr. Stanley Ferrell and wife, DaNang, of Arlington, TX, Eric Ferrell of Lithonia, Wilbert Ferrell, Jr. of Conyers, , and Rodney Ferrell of Lithonia; grandchildren, Shavonte, Jason, Troy, Antoine, Ashley, Na'Toree, Stafan, Candie, Isaiah, Carmen, Roderious, Rodtavius, Danquerious, Rashad, Jkiedra, Tierra, and Marqueisha; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Aniya, Cairo, Laila, and Elohim; brother, Hubert Bailey of Conyers; sisters, Lois Kilgore of Decatur and Mattie Pearl Benton of Reading, PA; many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held 11 o'clock, Friday, May 21, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Pastor Dr. Stanley Ferrell, and Pastor Edward Randolph, Jr. officiating. The visitation was held Thursday evening between 5 and 7 o'clock.
