Ronald James Chesser, age 65, of Snellville, died Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Ronnie was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, and was raised in the Catholic Church. He lived most of his life in Georgia, where he was a 1971 graduate of Walter E. George High School. Ronnie retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation where he worked as an engineer for many years. He enjoyed water skiing, grilling, shooting at the gun range, hunting, and playing the drums, which he had done since high school and continued to play with the band "Boomer X". Ronnie was preceded in death by his sister, Wynell Rippe. Surviving are his daughter, Courtney Chesser of Commerce; son, Joel Chesser of Snellville; mother, Diane McDuffie and her husband, Leon, of Commerce; grandson, Elijah James of Commerce; aunt, Maudenia Reid of Snellville; and girlfriend, Debbie Worley. A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Sunday, June 9, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside interment service will be held 2 o'clock, Monday, June 10 at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.
