Robert Edward Stallings, age 84, of Lithonia, died Tuesday, August 2, 2022. Born and raised in Barnesville, Georgia to Thelma and Robert L. Stallings and attended Milner High School. Ed served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He worked for 57 years for W. L. Clayton Distributor, Co. as a drink distributor. Ed had a strong work ethic and never retired but continued working all of his life. He enjoyed his dogs, Buddy and Roxy; watching the "Andy Griffith Show"; and going to the Waffle House on Sigman Road where they named a special after him "The Ed Special" which was 'eggs over well, burnt toast and extremely hot coffee'! He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Shirley; daughter, Debbie Studdard; his parents; and sisters, Barbara Sirmans and Betty Lester. Surviving are sons, Jeff Stallings and his wife, Renena, of Oxford, Glenn Stallings and his wife, Saucy, of Lithonia, and Scott Stallings and his wife, Stephanie, of Covington; daughter, Tina Lyon and Dell, of Covington; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Friday, August 5, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Nelson Goddard officiating. The interment will follow at Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery, 1400 Hwy 18 West, Barnesville, GA 30204. The family will receive from 5-8 pm, Thursday evening at the funeral home.
