Davis, Sr., age 73, of Buford, died August 23, 2016. Born in Earlington, Kentucky, he was a 1961 graduate of Bass High School in Atlanta and attended Gwinnett Tech. Philip was a Maintenance Supervisor at Phillips State Prison in Buford. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.P. and Ora Mae Davis. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Lynda H. Davis; daughters, Cheryl Davis of Buford and Major Lisa Davis, S.A., of Jackson, MS; son, Philip Davis, Jr., of Buford; granddaughter, Alyssa Davis; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, August 27 at Open Door Baptist Church, Flowery Branch, with Pastor Terry Poole officiating.
