Paul Wesley Skinner, Jr., age 57, of Conyers, died on March 14, 2024. Affectionately known to his family as "Big Paul", he was born on June 8, 1966, in Atlanta, Georgia. A carpenter by trade, he was a dedicated and reliable man who lived his life with a sense of purpose and a strong devotion to his craft. His larger-than-life personality was reflected in the things he loved- motorcycles, hunting, westerns, guns, rock & roll music, and shooting pool. Paul was social and outspoken, and his supportive nature and presence was always felt. A man of simple pleasures, what mattered most to him was being with his family and enjoying home-cooked meals.
Survivors include his parents, Paul Wesley Skinner, Sr., and Nancy Skinner; children, Shasta Duren, Paul Skinner, III, Anna Finch; siblings, Chris Skinner, Beth Duren, Joe Skinner; grandchildren, Hunter Skinner, Sadie-Lynn Skinner, Anslee Finch, Madie-Rae Skinner, Walker Finch, Emmarie-Jane Skinner; longtime partner, Cheryl Dowdy; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A funeral service for Paul will be held 3 o'clock, Sunday, March 17, at Way of the Cross Baptist Church in Conyers, with Rev. Billy Coleman officiating and interment following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the church from 1:30 PM until the service hour. Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia, is serving the Skinner family.
