Paul Leverett, age 78, of Lithonia, died February 25, 2017. Born in Lithonia to Hulon and Berta Leverett, Paul was a 1957 graduate of Lithonia High School. He retired from DeKalb County Water Department where he worked as a foreman for 29 years. Paul was a member of the Lithonia Masonic Lodge #84 F.&A.M. and especially enjoyed meeting every morning for many years with his friends at McDonald's to laugh, talk and eat breakfast. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Barnette Leverett. A loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Cook Leverett; daughter, Joy Wilkins, and husband, John, of Stockbridge; sister, JoAnn McMichael and husband, Jerry, of Hampton; brother, Marvin Leverett and wife, Pat, of Conyers; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Lorraine Assemblies of God , 4140 Union Church Rd., McDonough, 30252, with Rev. Joe Kerbow and Rev. Tommy Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-8 Monday evening at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
