Patricia Malcom Hamby, age 82, died April 4, 2024. A cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, she led an impactful life filled with accomplishments and joy that she shared generously with those around her. Her career in orthodontics spanned the majority of her adult life, and she took great pride in her role as a Treatment Coordinator. Patricia had a unique ability to explain complex orthodontic procedures in a way that patients could easily understand, earning their trust and affection. Beyond her professional life, Patricia was a beacon of encouragement and strength, touching many lives with her wisdom and her ability to listen without judgment. Her spiritual nature radiated from her, and her contagious laughter could warm any room. She loved reading, painting, and sharing precious moments with her friends and family.
Mrs. Hamby was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Malcom and Georgia Daniel Malcom; her loving husband of 49 years, Larry E. Hamby; and her brothers, Brannen and Glen Malcom.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal and Mark Young; Karen and Danny Staggs; her grandchildren and their spouses, Meredith & Chris E'Dalgo, Matt & Jade Young, Luke Staggs; her great-grandchildren, Sam Button, Ava Young, and Addi Young; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral service will be held 1 o'clock, Monday, April 8, 2024, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Martin officiating and interment following in Hillandale Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends prior the service, from 11-1 on Monday at the funeral home.
