Oweida Ewing, 87, of Avondale Estates, died August 17, 2024. Born on August 9, 1937, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the now late John and Eloise Meadows, she was a loving homemaker. Oweida wasn't shy about expressing her thoughts and opinions, and her outspokenness was a trait that many will remember. She was fond of children and found joy in their presence. Shopping and dining out brought her much enjoyment. Her family recalls her caring nature and readiness to be there for others in times of need. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, DC Kelly Ewing; and sister, Estelle Ferguson. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie & Jim Francis; grandson, Beau Francis; nephew and his wife, Mike & Jennette Ferguson; half-siblings, Linda, Ralph, Judy, Lawrence & Menita; great-niece, Kelly Moss; great-nephews, Michael Ferguson, Chris Ferguson, Joshua Anderson, Brandon Anderson; and god-granddaughter, Danielle Laver. A graveside service will be held 2 o'clock, Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the Lithonia City Cemetery.
