She was preceded in death by her husband, Leamon Simmons; daughters-in-law, Jimmie Simmons and Ann Simmons. Surviving are her sons, Jack Simmons of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Jerald Simmons of McDonough; grandchildren, Kay Simmons of Rex, Jeff and Cindy Simmons of McDonough, Jennifer and Matt McDowell of Fairfax, VA, and Jason Simmons of Tuscaloosa, AL; great-grandchildren, Justin and Kimberly Simmons of Monroe, Bradley and Tiffany Simmons of Lewisburg, KY, Britani Simmons of McDonough, Alisha Williams of Rex, Bailey Simmons of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Zoe McDowell of Fairfax, VA; great-great-grandchildren, Connor Simmons and Waylon Simmons; half- sisters, Mary Whitley of Hendersonville, TN and Lola Presley of Dalton. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Friday, March 30, 2018, at St. John Baptist Church, with Rev. Bobby Simmons and Rev. Tommy Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Dawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10-11, Friday morning prior to the service at the church.
