Ollie Jean Abbott, age 88, of Conyers, died September 2, 2021. Born in Lithonia to Grady and Fannie Mae Hamby, she was a graduate of Lithonia High School class of 1950. Ollie Jean always liked spending time with her husband, Joe, where she would either be helping or encouraging him on many projects. She loved working in her yard, you would often find her sitting on the John Deere tractor cutting the grass, or spending time watching the deer and birds. Ollie Jean and Joe often worked in their garden, filled the freezer with their bounty and enjoyed their labors in the winter. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bobby Hamby; and sister, Francis Hamby George. Surviving are her beloved husband of 72 years, Joe Abbott; sons, Alan Abbott and his wife, Sharon, Mike Abbott and his wife, Linda, and Joey Abbott; daughter, Vicky Abbott Crowe and her husband, Mike; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A graveside service will be held 11 o'clock, Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Philadelphia Baptist Cemetery with Dr. Jim Martin officiating.
