Nettie Mae (Pat) Hammonds, age 85 of Stockbridge, passed away April 8, 2021. In her younger years, Pat worked as a switchboard operator for Southern Bell and later for Rockdale County. She also worked as a real estate agent for 10 years; for Rich's/Macy's Department Store as a salesperson; for Nestle Company; and as a tax assessor for Rockdale County. Pat was a member of Harvest Tabernacle. She enjoyed reading, going to the beach and working in her yard. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and daughter, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57, years, John William Hammonds; and parents, Lila Mae and Ira Jack Hammonds. Surviving are her sons, John A. Hammonds and his wife, Lea, of Stockbridge, and William Andrew "Andy" Hammonds of Stockbridge; daughters, Lori Works and her husband, Jody, of McDonough, and Lila Jane Hammonds of Stockbridge; one brother; grandchildren, Many Lineberger, Ashley Baudry, Lindsay Gettman, Daniel Anderson, and Jordan Hammonds; great-grandchildren, Hagan, Jackson, Quentin, Abe, Levi, Jace, and Lily; many nieces, nephews and couisins. A graveside service will be held 2 o'clock, Monday, April 12, at Highview Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Bob Halsted officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4, Sunday afternoon at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
