Myron Joshua "Big Josh" Dooley

Myron Joshua Dooley, Jr., known to many as “Big Josh”, passed away on October 10, 2026, at the age of 69. He was born on March 4, 1957, in Decatur, Georgia, to the late Myron Joshua Dooley, Sr. and Dorothy "Bev" Cain Dooley.

Mr. Dooley served his country as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. In his working life, he was employed in construction and was a member of the Insulators & Allied Workers Local Union #48.

A devoted sports fan, Big Josh followed the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves, and NASCAR. He enjoyed keeping up with his favorite teams and watching the action and excitement of a good game or race unfold.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and sister, Jody McArthur. Survivors include his son, Myron Joshua "Little Josh" Dooley, III; daughter, Rachel Scogin; sisters and brother-in-law, Pam Hardy, Alice and Larry Williams, Pat Harrell; six grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A memorial service will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday, October 24, at Henry Funeral Home with Mr. Pete Culver officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home, from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
