Melanie Lynn Mabry, age 70, of Conyers, died September 3, 2021. She was a graduate of Forrest Park High School. Melanie enjoyed scrap booking, crafting, interior decorating, working with flowers, and loved reading. Her favorite book was Gone with the Wind from which she got her name, Melanie. She was a hard worker and very passionate in everything she did. Her first job was at the Atlanta Zoo working at the children's train; she later worked for the State of Georgia; Ryder Trucking Services; Dr. Foster's office; "Hilda's Special Occasions, Events and Banquets"; a cleaning business with her daughter; and later as a care giver. Melanie was unable to work her last years of her life and she was taken care of by her daughter, Melinda (Mindy). She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Gibson and Anita Osley. Surviving are her son, Donnie Smith; daughter, Mindy Smith Myers and her husband, Steven; grandsons, Devon Cofer and Cody Myers; 2 great grandsons, Bentley Cofer and Grayson; brothers and their wives, Kenny and Sheila Jones, Steve and Sherri Jones, Roger and Jenny Jones, Scotty and Patty Jones; several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held 4 o'clock, Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Hyde's Chapel Fellowship Hall, 1630 W. Hightower Trail, Conyers, Georgia, 30012
