Celebration of Life Funeral services for Mary Ella Henderson, 88, will be held Friday, April 10, 2020 at the Morrison Funeral Home in Butler, New Jersey. The burial will follow the funeral services at Mount Holiness Memorial Park; also located in Butler, New Jersey. Mary entered eternal rest on Friday, April 3, 2020 in Lithonia, Georgia. She was born July 12, 1931 in Crawfordville, Georgia to the late Willie George Murray and Annie Mae King Murray. She was educated in the Crawfordville School system until she relocated to New York City. Mary held many jobs in New York that afforded her the opportunity to work with many families. She developed a personal bond and friendship with them that lasted for years. From a birthday celebration in the back yard or a Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter dinner, Mary's house was the central place to gather for many holidays and special family events. Many of her children's friends became part of the extended family due to her kindness and willingness to make room at the table during the many celebrations she hosted. Mary had 11 children who loved her dearly. Her children regarded her as a great teacher, provider and supporter. She always had great insight and advice while showing love and compassion. Mary is preceded in death by her 3 children, James Franklin (the oldest son), Mary (the oldest daughter) and Roy (the 9th child). She leaves to cherish her memory 1 sister, Willie Clara Coward; 8 children: Ira (Carolyn), Dorothy, Marie, Larry, Sharon (Tony), Annette (Ford), Laura Ann (Rewell) and Earl (Leah). She also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. SHE WILL BE TRULY MISSED!
