Mary Trammell Grooms, age 96, of Monticello, formerly of Lithonia, died Friday, August 9, 2019. While living in Lithonia, she attended Philadelphia Baptist Church and later attended Smithboro Baptist Church while living in Monticello. Mary enjoyed listening to gospel music and swing bands from the '40's; working in her garden; canning; attending family reunions in Alabama; and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Curtis Grooms, Jr. Surviving are her children, William C. "Jack" Grooms, III, Douglas Neil Grooms and Mary Faye Grooms, all of Monticello. The family will receive friends 5-7 Saturday afternoon, August 10, at Henry Funeral Home Remains will be carried to Martin Funeral Home in Clanton, Alabama, for funeral services and burial on Monday.
