Service: 3 o'clock, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 Place: Lithonia Chapel of Henry Funeral Home Visitation: 1:30 - 3:00 Wednesday Place: Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia Marvin Carnell Leverett, age 84, of Conyers, died August 6, 2017. Born in Lithonia to Hulon and Berta Leverett, Marvin was a 1952 graduate of Lithonia High School. He retired from Western Electric / AT&T, where he worked for 31 years. After an early retirement, he pursued a hobby career for 23 years as a dealers-trade driver for area car dealers. Marvin was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Lithonia. He served his country in the United States Army from 1954-55 mostly in Germany. He was a faithful member of the 'Wellness Club' at Rockdale Medical Center where he exercised regulary. Also, he was a regular attendee of the local McDonalds 'Breakfast Club.' He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Deloris Owens Leverett; brothers, Barnett Leverett and Paul Leverett. A loving husband, father, and brother, he is survived by his wife of 31 years, Patricia Duffey Leverett; daughter, Lynn Ragsdale and husband, Ricky, of Conyers; son, Todd Leverett and wife, Ashley,of Ormand Beach, FL; step-children, John Blythe and wife,Toddi, of Suwanee; and Laura Suitor and husband, Allen, of Cardiff, CA; sister, JoAnn McMichael and husband, Jerry, of Hampton; sisters-in-laws Barbara Leverett of Stockbridge and Barbara Ann Long of Loganville; grandchildren, Jessica Ragsdale, Hannah Blythe, Bennett Blythe, Taylor Suitor; several nieces and nephews. Flowers will be accepted but those wishing may make memorial gifts in his memory to First Baptist Church of Lithonia. A funeral service will be held 3 o'clock Wednesday, August 9, in Lithonia Chapel of Henry Funeral Home, with Rev. Bob Lindsay and Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Family will receive friends 1 1/2 hours prior to the funeral. Interment will follow at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery, Stone Mountain, GA.
