Marion J. Key, age 72 of Conyers, died November 26, 2014, after a long illness. Born in Lithonia on February 22, 1942, to Mary Lou Barret and Nathan C. Key, he was the youngest of 14 children. He worked as a curbing superintendent for many years before retiring. Mr. Key was an honest simple man who loved the Georgia Bulldogs, Nascar, and was very proud of all of his children and grandchildren! He was preceded in death by parents, six sisters and two brothers. Surviving are his four children, Wendell Key and wife, Terry, of Conyers, Vickie Key Vinings and husband, Travis, of Monroe, Melia Key Peterson of Monroe, and Becky Baker Johnson of Covington; sisters, Mary Key Proctor of TN and Addie Maude Reagin of McDonough; brothers, Herman Key of McDonough, Cecil Key and wife, Brenda, of McDonough and Nathan (Junior) Key and wife, Carol, of Lithonia; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, November 29, at Turner Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
