Marion A. Carter, age 58, of Gibson, Georgia, died at his residence October 16, 2022. He was born in Conyers, Georgia, and grew up in Lithonia. Marion was a self-employed mechanic for most of his life. He attended Way of the Cross Baptist Church in his early years. Marion enjoyed working on cars; baking; working in the yard; his animals; and listening to Rock N' Roll and Country music. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lena Stegall and Charlie Carter; his son, Ray Carter; and his brother, Tommy Carter. Surviving are his significant other of over 12 years, Vicky Robertson; sister, Susan Dills and her husband, Allen, of Crossville, TN; niece, Vickie Dills; and nephew, Danny Carter. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, October 22, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, with Rev. Billy Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Kennedy Memorial Gardens, Ellenwood, GA. The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
