Born in Atlanta to Charlie Mercer New and Alla Mae Kersey New. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Putnam. Surviving are her daughter, Tabitha Degracia, of Conyers; sisters, Judy and Betty New, both of Conyers, and Becky Jones, of Canton, NC; 5 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 3 o'clock, Sunday, October 28, at Water Oak Baptist Church, 1990 Carr Road NE, Conyers, GA 30012 with Rev Freddy Spry officiating.
