Malcolm Hamby, Jr., age 81, of Lithonia, died Sunday, December 16, 2018. Born and raised in Lithonia, to parents, Malcolm and Eva Hamby, he was a 1955 graduate of Lithonia High School and retired from AT&T in 1989 after 30 years of service, and after retirement was a member of AT&T Pioneers. Malcolm was a member of Heritage Hills Baptist Church in Conyers and prior to that was a deacon and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Lithonia. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Brenda Greene Hamby; daughter, Susan H. Palmer of Decatur; and grandchildren Kathleen N. Palmer and Devin J. Palmer. A funeral service will be held 2:30 o'clock, Tuesday, December 18, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Dr. Doug Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at the Lithonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 Tuesday afternoon prior to the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Samaritan's Purse, P.O.
