Place: Open Door Baptist Church, Flowery Branch Lynda Gayle Davis, age 73, of Buford, died April 19, 2017. A 1962 graduate of Bass High School in Atlanta, she retired as a secretary for the Salvation Army in Atlanta, and was past Worthy Matron of Buford Chapter # 317, Order of Eastern Star. Lynda was preceded in death by her husband, Philip D. Davis, and parents, Leoda and Mercer J. Henry. A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Davis of Buford and Major Lisa Davis, S.A., of Jackson, MS; son, Philip D. Davis, Jr. of Buford; brothers, Jerry Henry and his wife, Jan, of Eatonton and Doug Henry and his wife, Cathy, of Lithonia; granddaughter, Alyssa Davis; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 1 o'clock Saturday, April 22 at Open Door Baptist Church, Flowery Branch, with Pastor Terry Poole officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
