Luther Rufus "Bug" Carter, age 70, of Covington, died November 28, 2020. Born in Atlanta, GA to Clarence Vernon and Bonnie Anderson Carter, he grew up in Lithonia where he attended Rock Chapel Elementary and Lithonia High School, and worked for Davidson Mineral Property as a front end loader operator for 32 years. Bug enjoyed dirt track racing, baseball, restoring old cars, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Carter; and son, Butch Carter. Surviving are his daughter, Jessica Brock and her husband, Kevin, of Covington; sons, Matthew Harris and his wife, Alicia, of Eatonton and Sam Carter and his wife, Nicole, of Covington; grandchildren, Damian, Austin, Savannah, Ashley, Nash, Waylon, Kolby, Konar, Kimberly and Zackary; great granddaughters, Adiley and Bristol; brother, Lamar Carter and his wife, Toreitha, of Rutledge, and Jimmy Carter and his wife, Brenda, of Lithonia; sister, Ruth Aycox of Madison; sister-in-law, Sheila Carter of Lithonia; his children's mother, Kay Moran of Covington; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Monday, November 30, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Adams officiating. Interment will follow at East Lithonia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to his funeral expenses. The family will receive friends from 10-11 o'clock prior to the service at the funeral home.
