Linda Hicks Dunning age 73, of Social Circle, died June 18, 2022. She was born in Lithonia, Georgia, to Ruby and Willliam Henry Hicks and was a graduate of Lithonia High School, class of '67. Linda was a bus driver for the DeKalb School System for 29 years. She loved driving for many field trips and for the Stone Mountain High School football team. Linda loved animals, especially her two pets, Annie and Buddy. She enjoyed working in her yard; bird watching (keeping the bird feeders full); gardening (loved working with her roses); and shopping at Walmart. Linda was a happy person who never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Buster Dunning; and parents. Surviving are her son Robert (Bobby) Dunning and his wife, Michelle, of Social Circle; daughter, Regina Chappelear and her husband, Phillip, of Covington; sister, Diane McDuffie of Commerce; brothers, Rick Jarrell and his wife, Deborah, of Commerce and Mike Jarrell and his wife, Susan, of Jersey; grandchildren, Dalton Chappelear, Crystal Dunning, Mikaila Chappelear, BJ Dunning, and Kayla Sellars; great grandchildren, Camden and Colton; nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held 10 o'clock, Thursday, June 23rd in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. The interment will follow at East View Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-8pm, Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
