Service: 2 o'clock, Thursday, December 15, 2016 Place: Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Conyers Visitation: 3 - 9 Wednesday evening Place: Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia Lillian Ragsdale, age 90, of Conyers, died December 12, 2016. Lillian was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Conyers for 75 years where she taught Sunday School, assisted with Vacation Bible School, and was very active in the Friendship Club, where she served as both President and Treasurer. A lifelong resident of Conyers, she spent her life helping others and was active in many organizations. Lillian served as President of AARP for two years, played the piano at Daily Haven Adult Daycare in Conyers; was a volunteer at the Olivia Haydel Senior Center and for March of Dimes. She also made jelly and baked cakes every year as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Lillian retired from Sears after many years of service and enjoyed participating in the Sear's Retiree's Group. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, she will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Mercer Ragsdale; daughter, Maggie Ragsdale; son in laws, Ronnie McEachern and Anthony "Yogi" Mann; parents, George and Vera Johnson; sister, Mary Alice Johnson; brother, Weyman Johnson; brother in law, Clyde Wilson. Surviving are daughters, Jane McEachern and Cindy Mann of Conyers; sons, Sammy Ragsdale and his wife, Tricia, of Covington, and Jerry Ragsdale of Conyers; sister, Dean Wilson of Snellville; sister-in-law, Loriene Johnson of Conyers; 7 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock Thursday, December 15, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Conyers with Rev. Scott Richardson and Rev. Stacy Myers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 3 - 9 Wednesday at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
