Leonard R. Major, age 84, of Monroe, Georgia, died September 17, 2025. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on April 1, 1941, Leonard was a devoted man of many talents and passions.
He spent his professional life as a mechanic for DeKalb County until his retirement. Never one to sit still, Leonard's post-retirement life was filled with activity. He was a dedicated member of several car clubs including The Studebaker Club, Ford Club, Corvair Club & Masters Club. His love for antique cars was only matched by his fondness for Coca-Cola memorabilia, accumulating a significant collection over the years. He was also an avid gardener, often found working in his yard.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Martin & Catherine Major, and his brother, Robert Major. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Phyllis Major; sons, Todd Major (Stephanie Drake), Douglas Major (Judi); as well as his brother, Charlie Major.
A service to honor & remember Leonard's life will be held 12 o'clock, Thursday, September 25, at Hill Haven Memory Gardens and Mausoleum, 490 Edmondson Road, Monroe, with entombment following.
