Lawrence Edward "Larry" Palmour, Sr., age 98, of Conyers, died Tuesday, November 5, 2019. He was born in Cleveland, Georgia to Ed and Ocie Palmour. Larry served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and earned the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church in Decatur and was the owner of P & D Neon Sign Company where he worked for many years. Larry enjoyed hunting, dancing, gardening, spending time with his family on his houseboat where they would fish, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Eunice Palmour; son, Terry Wayne Palmour; sisters, Clara Powell and Ruth Henry. Surviving are his daughter, Linda Tison and her husband, Mel, of Ellijay; sons, Lawrence Edward "Ted" Palmour, Jr., of Conyers, Scott Palmour and Lynn Allan of Convington; sister, Janelle Cross; grandchildren, Carma Holder, Tilisa Duncan and Robert Palmour; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 1 o'clock, Saturday, November 9, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with his niece, Rev. Karen Cross Moline officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-1 prior to the service.
