Larry D. Young, age 77, of Covington, Georgia, died March 27, 2025. He was born into the large family of Kermit & Lealer Young on August 19, 1947, in Lithonia, Georgia where he was raised and lived for many years. Larry was a loving person and a funny, witty individual who enjoyed a good laugh and joking with others. An avid sportsman, hunting was one of his passions, and he spent many happy hours in the great outdoors. Additionally he enjoyed playing golf and watching NASCAR. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary, JoAnne and Shirley; brothers, Tommy and Billy; grandson, Justin Young. Survivors include his beloved wife of 35 years, Deborah Young; sons, Bevard D. Young (Gabette) and Chad Aikens (Melissa); sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie & Doug Hamby, Betty McAdams, Eleanor & David Brand; grandchildren, Johnathan D. Young, Joseph E. Johnson, Olivia J. Pharo, Kaitlin Gonzalez (Troy), Conner Aikens, Taylor Oliver; great-granddaughter, Kallie Gonzalez; many nieces, nephews & extended family members. A graveside service for Larry will be held 10 o'clock, Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Turner Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, March 31, from 6-8 PM, at Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church St., Lithonia, GA.
