Lamar Burt, originally of Lithonia, GA passed from this earth at 3:16pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. He was born October 15, 1956 in Lithonia where he spent his childhood and was an attendee of Lithonia High School. Lamar was a brick mason, electrician, and general contractor. And, loved telling stories about his days driving as a contractor for the US Post Office. His last employment was as a Superintendent and Property Manager with All South Construction Company. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Clayton Burt, and Margaret Atkinson Burt. He is survived by one brother, Bobby Lee Burt of Lithonia, two sisters, Elizabeth Burt of Lithonia and Mary Burt of Tucker, GA, Aunt Sharon Burt of Rutledge, GA, numerous cousins, and friends, including his special friends, Connie Batiz and her daughter, Briana Venegas. Lamar's spark shone brightly, and he never hid it under a basket. But he was like a shooting star that illuminates us for a short while and his passing leaves this world a darker place. He was known for his mischievous spirit, warm friendship, and his willingness to help anyone who asked. And, while we mourn our loss, we know he is in a better place. A funeral service will be held 1 o'clock, Friday, September 3, 2021, in the Chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Mason officiating, with the interment following at Hillandale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 - 1 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
