Obituary

Kenneth Segers, 64, of Lithonia, Georgia, died September 14, 2014. A native of Lithonia, Mr. Segers served his country in the U. S. Air Force. Kenneth was a retired magician, who, by the stage name "Kendini," entertained many over the years with his magic. Although Kenneth never married and had no children of his own, his love for children was evident as his nieces and nephews sat at his feet, always asking Uncle Kenneth to do just one more magic trick, or show the secret to card tricks or even help master archery the way he did. The love of his life was his "Beautiful, sweet Mama," as he called her. She was able to avoid a nursing home for many years because of the way he tenderly loved and cared for her at home. The second love of his life was his devoted dog, Zorro, who will truly miss his master. Zorro was a stray that seemed to be sent by God to bring joy to Kenneth simply by loving and being loved - just the way Kenneth brightened the lives of all he touched. He is survived by his mother, Eudez Baker Segers of Lithonia, Georgia; sisters, Loretta Goddard of Snellville, Georgia, and Guinn Huffman and her husband Jack of Morganton, North Carolina; brother, Larry Segers and his wife Mickey of Monticello, Georgia; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mr. Segers will be held 3 o'clock, Saturday, September 20, 2014, in the Lithonia chapel of Henry Funeral Home. Dr. Jim Martin will officiate and burial will follow at Hillandale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 Friday evening at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia, 770-482-4411 or henryfuneral.com In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Salvation Army.
