Walter Kenneth McEachern, age 81, of Lithonia died January 9, 2021. Born in Fayetteville, Georgia, to Johnnie and Faye McEachern, his family moved to Lithonia where he graduated from Lithonia High School, class of 1957. Kenneth worked for over 50 years as the owner of McEachern Grading and later McEachern Dredging. He was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church and enjoyed his grandchildren and his work. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Edith Turner; and brother, Ronnie McEachern. Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Mildred Lee McEachern, of Lithonia; daughters, Margie Blair and her husband, Scott, of Conyers, Karen Daniel and her husband, Allen, of Loganville, and Kim Key and her husband, Scotty, of Lithonia; sister, Charldene Chupp of Greensboro; grandchildren and their spouses, Jonathan and Ansley Daniel, Joshua and Shea Daniel, Vicki and Cody Robertson, Nathan and Angela Key, Rebekah and Phillip Standridge, and Kaitlin and Ryan Kinney; great grandchildren, Jack, Wesley, Paul, Terra, Alyssa, Noah, McKenna, Kalin, Hannah, Aaron, Kelsey, and McKayla; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held, 1 o'clock, Saturday, January 23, at Canaan Baptist Church, Covington, with Pastor Allen Daniel, Rev. Jimmy Lee and Rev. Eric Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Park, Lithonia. The family will receive friends at the church from 12-1 pm prior to the service. Due to the Covid pandemic, guests are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
