Service: 11 o'clock, Saturday, July 1, 2017 Place: Lithonia Chapel of Henry Funeral Home Visitation: One hour prior to the service Place: Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia Kenneth "Pops" Elder, age 84, died quietly at home on June 29, 2017. Kenneth lived in Buford the last three years but his true home was in Lithonia. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Kenneth loved life and was always busy helping others. He was a kind and wonderful father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Elder. Surviving are daughter Kathy Clayton and her husband, Bill; son, Ken Elder, Jr.; his former daughter in law whom he loved dearly, Kecia Elder; grandchildren, Andrew Kicklighter, Sarah McCain and her husband, Ben, Katy Kicklighter, Levi Kicklighter, Kylie Elder, and Kaleb Elder; great grandchild, Eli McCain; and his beloved dog, Princess. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, July 1, in the Lithonia Chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Mathews officiating. Interment will follow at Melwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral time.
