Julia Marie Powell, age 66, died June 29, 2023. She was born in Atlanta to Thomas J. Powell, Jr. and Mary Julia Chupp Powell. She enjoyed visiting the mountains and the beach. Julia loved her 'Thelma and Louise' like adventures with her sissy, Elaine. She enjoyed old western movies featuring John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, watching tennis matches and football games, eating sushi and seafood, and reading fantasy books. Julia was preceded in death by her parents; sister Victoria Powell; and brother, Jeff Powell. Surviving are her daughter, Savannah Powell, of Peachtree Corners; grandson, Myles Calkins; brother, Jack Powell and his wife, Kathy Cameron, of Snellville; "Sissy', Elaine Allee, of Monroe; aunt, Dot Baker, of Newborn; uncle, Bobby Chupp and his wife, Pat, of Newborn; and many cousins. A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 o'clock, Saturday, July 8, at Henry Funeral Home in Lithonia, GA.
