Obituary

In Loving Memory of Juan Ramon "Manny" Aponte Born on the vibrant island of Puerto Rico and later rooted in the city of Atlanta, Juan Ramon, known by some as Manny, lived a life defined by his passion for analytical challenges and innovation. This passion led him to pursue a career in engineering, and he graduated from Southern College of Technology in June 1992. Juan passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, at his home in Norcross, leaving behind a legacy of love, ingenuity, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. From an early age, Juan was captivated by how things worked. His passion for engineering wasn't just a career—it was a lens through which he saw the world. Whether tinkering with gadgets, breaking down complex systems with ease, or solving problems others deemed impossible, he brought precision and creativity to everything he touched. Juan's soul belonged in nature. He found peace camping among green mountains, sitting at the beach, and enjoying the rhythm of the waves, and was constantly astonished by the breathtaking beauty of Mother Nature. Juan also had a passion for travel; whether on a cruise ship, airplane, or automobile, he was always excited to explore the world. Then there was tennis—his favorite sport and a lifelong love. Whether playing with friends or watching professionals with admiration, Juan cherished the strategy, grace, and energy of the game. To those who knew him, Juan was more than his interests. He was a gentle spirit, a thoughtful problem-solver who constantly asked "how" and "why," and someone fascinated by power, flow, and transformation. Although he could be shy at times, Juan's laughter was warm and sincere, reflecting a deep respect for the complexity of feelings and the vulnerability it takes to share them. Juan is survived by his brothers Rey Armando, Juan Carlos, and Jose Javier, as well as his close friends and colleagues who were touched by his humility and dedication to his career. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29th, at 10 am at Henry Funeral Home in Lithonia, followed by a graveside service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA, at 11:30 am. Though Juan has left this world, the imprint of his spirit remains—in the rustle of leaves, the hum of a well-built machine, and the echo of a tennis ball on a summer court. His spirit will live forever in the hearts of those closest to him.
