Joyce Carroll, age 83, of Buford, Georgia, died December 9, 2024. Born Nellie Joyce Chaney on October 17, 1941, in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the only daughter of the now late John Ingram Chaney, Jr., and Nellie Belle Chaney. Full of love and dedication to serving others, Joyce was a registered nurse by profession, employed by the State of Georgia for 25 years before her retirement. Even after retiring, she never stopped caring for those around her, always putting the needs of her loved ones before her own. Joyce will be remembered as a wonderful mother whose family was her ultimate pride and joy. In her leisure, she was an outdoor enthusiast, greatly enjoying lake life, flowers and the pursuit of gardening. Joyce loved to attend church and treasured her time reading and studying God's Word. Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Charlie Chaney, Jake Chaney; and her son, Mark Mann. Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Mann; daughter-in-law, Amanda Mann; brother, John Ingram Chaney, III; grandchildren and their spouses, Kory Mann, Christopher & Celia Mann, Rebecca & Kyle Bell; great-grandchildren, Kade Bell, Stetson Bell and twin girls on the way; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held 1 o'clock, Saturday, December 21, 2024, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia, with Pastor Robert Lindsay officiating and interment following in Philadelphia Baptist Cemetery, 6910 South Goddard Road, Lithonia, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday one hour prior to the service, from 12- 1 PM.
