Joseph 'Joey' Howard Upchurch, age 56, of Jackson, died May 15, 2023. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Martha Jean Tumlin and Joseph Thomas Upchurch, he grew up in Stockbridge and attended Stockbridge High School. Joey enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and cracking 'dad' jokes! He was the owner/operator of Upchurch Fence Company. Joey was preceded in death by his father, Joe "Topsy" Upchurch; and sister, Jennifer Jeanell Upchurch. Surviving are his loving wife of over 20 years, Traci; sons, Jordan Upchurch and his wife, Stacy, of Flovilla, Micah Upchurch and his wife, Stashia of Flovilla, Ayden Upchurch of Jackson, and Asher Upchurch, also of Jackson; mother, Martha Jean Tumlin of Monticello; grandchildren, Everlee, Tinley, Emmarie, and soon to be arriving, Baby Girl Upchurch; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be held 1 o'clock, Saturday, May 20, at Rock Springs Church, 219 Rock Springs Road, Milner, Georgia, 30257, with Pastor Noel Edwards, Sr. officiating. The interment will follow at Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening 6 to 8pm at the church.
